Cypress Hills Cemetery, Catalogue of Proprietors (1880)
Below is a list of links to the pages found in a book published in 1881 containing a "Catalogue of Proprietors" for Cypress Hill Cemetery, which consists of a list of plot owners with the size and location of the plots as of 1880. This book also contains a description and history, as well as the regulations for the cemetery. The volume here presented is missing several of its original pages and the printing is often hard to read with the occasional error... so one should not put too much dependence on this source, but rather use it as an aid to locate family plots. When searching for missing relatives one should also consider that their relative(s) might have been re-interred in a common plot from one of the many now defunct cemeteries that had at one time been located in lower Manhattan, or that their relative might have been buried in a plot owned by an association—for a list of churches, congregations and associations that owned plots in Cypress Hills, SEE pages 87 and 88. For Abbreviations used in the Catalogue SEE page 28.
